Good day everyone:
Well,i'm at the point where I'm ready to make up some lube and go shooting.
has anyone ever used lucas oil treatment as a component in their lube.

Any input is greatly appreciated.

I made the mistake of buying lucas gas treatment for lube instead of oil treatment, worked terribly. Don't make my mistake, though I do have a wonderful flux now from that batch of lube.
Some people swear by it, after my folly I never tried it again, though I did use the wrong thing to begin with.

I guess this isn't much help here, just make sure you don't get gas treatment accidentally. Worst lube ever, sand would've probably worked better then the gas treatment did.

lucas oil treatment is best used in smaller amounts.
it has a mineral oil base and one of it's ingredient is paratack.
it acts quite similar to adding lanolin to a lube.
5% is about the correct amount.

If you do like many of us and just want to make lube, then by all means jump right in. I think you will find that many lubes like those sold by White Label Lubes will fill your needs for about the same money without the time and trouble of trying to find what works and does not work.
I made my own BP lube that works great but it takes a lot of ingredients that are expensive. I found that by purchasing my lube it's a lot easier. Good Luck, David
