Vectan ba10 and 9mm

Looking for some info using ba 10 with 124 gr berry's plated rn. Vectan website lists chargers running from 1.9 to 2.3 using A Lyman 356402. Seems a little on the light side. The site also doesn't give OAL.

I have only tried ba10 in 38 spl with 148 gr wad cutters. The data said 2.0 grs, so I tried that. Compared to 3.2 bullseye, the recoil was very light. Around 10% keyholed on me, but it was the first time I cast my own wadcutters. The keyholing might have been too slow a load, or my boolits.
I increased the charge to 2.2 grs., but have not shot them yet.
It is much cleaner than bullseye, for what that's worth.

Just loaded some 9mm with 4.0gr of Vectan A0, S&B sp, with 115gr Rainer RN plated's out of my M&P 9C, light load, nothing in the ballpark of pressure signs yet but 100% function. I will work up from here. I wanted to try Ba9-10 but my guy was out.

BA-10 seems to be a super quick powder.
I talked to someone recently using a similar bullet and the BA-10 powder, 2 grs wasn't quite enough in his gun.

I just loaded up a small batch with 2 and 2.2 grains. Hopefully I get to the range this weekend to try it out.

Looking at their burn rate chart, it's actually 4 spots ahead of BE.

Yeah, i said near. Its a very fast powder was what i was saying. A couple of other charts have it a few slots slower than BE but faster than Red Dot.

I have been working on a 10 Kilo drum for a couple of years. I normally load 3.1gr with a Lyman 356402 and 3.2gr with a H&G 331. Worked these up for an open bolt Subgun. Both are just over 1100 fps out of a 10" barrel. Recently got a FN FNS9 longslide, and they both work it fine. I have not chronoed the loads out of the pistol. Both loads knock the steel plates over reliably.

Glad to hear you were able to run it up to 3.1gr. Neither the 2 or 2.2 gr test loads would cycle the slide on my RIA 1911.
