260 Striker

Acquired a RCBS 6.5-140-SILH block this week and wanted to try in my 260 Striker. Cast some bullets out of straight linotype, nose sized to .257 and body sized to .265 using LBT blue (soft). Seated bullets .100 off rifling ahead of 18.0 grains of SR4759 lit by Fed 210 primers. Shot at 55 yards (IHMSA chicken distance) with my Leupold scope set to 8X as usual. Shot using creedmore position. Six shots went into a 3/4" cluster with the other four opening to 1 1/2". Was fighting mosquitos due to all this recent moisture here in OH. Very light recoil. Latest Lyman Cast Bullet Handbook showed the 18.0 SR4759 load as most accurate with a 150 grain bullet so thought I would give it a try. Didn't want to seat bullets closer to rifling and take a chance on sticking a bullet if I had to eject a live round at an IHMSA match. Very pleased so far. Will shoot this load in an IHMSA match this weekend and see how well this bullet/load works at 200 meters. If anyone has a 6.5 cartridge they want to try with cast I would highly recommend the RCBS blocks.
