Hi all,
I'm trying to fix up a friends, remington 10 gauge BPS pump shotgun,

its got an UGLY worn faded Black--NOW-Gray synthetic stock on it,

1-is there any way to bring it back to a shiny black ?

2-can it be sanded smooth again? its got battle scars,

he doesn't want to spend the money for a new set,

thanks
john

back when i had my CJ it had those rubber-plastic fenders and i ran a torch over them lightly to bring them from faded gray to black,
but this is a different material so i don't dare try that,

Paint it. Sanding might weaken it if you go deep enough to remove a gouged area. Live with the deep scraches/ gouged spots and paint it.

Or you can try several coats of Armor All.

Look at your auto parts store for Back to Black, a product to wipe on plastic auto trim parts to restore the black color.

Never used that on gun parts but I bet you are right, for the car parts it's meant for it works like magic! From what the OP described that stuff would probably be the easiest and simplest way to do this.
