What is the best way to tell tell the zinc or other types of wheelweights from the lead ones. I am trying to get me a supply up before I jump into buying everything to cast bullets.

There is lots of info in this sticky about WW identification and sorting them.

Side cutters on every weight that looks suspect is my normal procedure now.

They are harder to cut with the pliars right?

Yes they are a lot harder. Most of them I see will have Zn cast into them, but the last batch I sorted most of the zinc had no markings.

Thanks for the replies. I have a lot to learn with casting. Have reloaded for years but have always bought cast when I used them.
