I have a 10MM Delta Elite bought when they first came out. Mostly cast boolits with a few j words. I've shot 2 mule deer with it, 50 & 65 yds. Recoil greater than 45 ACP, but not too bad with full power loads.

Yes. Pick one. Glock is easy. Powdercoat works wonders in Glock bores at normal CB diameters(.401 in this case). Sig has a new SAO 220 in 10. 10mm 1911's being actively produced. Of course old smiths in both auto and revolver form out there. I'm still thinking a contender with 8-10" barrel would be real fun.

I would shy away from the 10MM and especially the Glock. I was shooting with a friend that has the Glock 10MM. He was shooting Armscor ammo. The brass had the "smiley face" of the unsupported chamber. I would not consider reloading the brass that came out of that gun. I had reservations about shooting the new Armscor ammo because the case bulge was scary to me.
You might buy virgin brass and stick with light loads and cast bullets and get away with it. I would just buy a S&W .44 Mag. if I needed a big handgun.

I've been eying up a Tanfoglio for awhile. I love the CZ75 so a 10mm version seems like a lot of fun. I have no interest in 40 short & weak. But there's something that draws me to a 10mm.

You wont be disappointed. I have a couple GLocks and a Tanfoglio in 10MM. ALL great pistols. I carry my G29 everyday. Buck up and buy a barrel with better chamber support (if you buy a Glock), and have no fear reloading this powerful cartridge to it's true potential. The 10 is a awesome cartridge!

Hot 10mm is about as reasonable powerful as you can get in an auto loader. I say reasonable because there is always the desert eagles and Coonans and others, but in a typical reasonably priced auto loader you can carry around the woods, it is a lot of firepower.

Lotta years with the 10mm, it is a great caliber. I would never counsel against its purchase. I got away from it only due to an administrative brain fart on the part of my old agency brought on by HR 218 and somebody's over-reaction to supposed Federal oversight of firearms programs. Not able to CCW with the caliber any longer, it became expendable. I gotta thin the herd around here, both in terms of caliber count and toybox population.

RIA is one of the best values for your dollar. I have one of their 1911s and it's run flawlessly from day one. If I wanted a 10mm in a 1911 configuration it's what I would buy.

Conversion by Dave Clements, it was gone almost a year when I got it back due to getting the barrel re bored. Uses moon clips, also had him include another front sight with the green fiber optic insert. I like it! And Dave is easy to work with.

The 10 is a solid cartridge, I've had them off and on for a long time but ultimately decided it's not doing anything the .40 or .45 isn't doing already. I can't really say anything bad about it though.

Your thoughts kinda parallel my own, to a great degree. The 10mm's one attribute that (I believe) separates it from the 40 S&W and 45 ACP is its velocity with the 200 grain bullet, which I cast as a soft point and ran to 1200-1225 FPS in a S&W Model 1026. I hunted deer with these loads several times, a thing I would not do with the 40 or 45 self-loaders. The gods of the hunt did not see fit to have a buck step into my circle when I had the 1026 along, sadly. So loaded, the 10mm runs close to--but not quite--to the 41 Magnum in a 4" barrel. It is far ahead of the 357 Magnum, which the 10mm's naysayers are fond of comparing it to. It--like many other calibers--just needs loading to its full safe potential, then use those loads on the tort lawyers that brow-beat our ammo companies into neutering their products into mediocrity.

I have no interest in a 10mm semi auto but that GP-100 has got my wallet twitchin, and using moon clips is really got my interest. Tug tell me more, where did it come from?

Got a S&W 1006 when they first came out. Good gun. 2-3 thousand rounds through it since new with JHP's and cast. Never a balk. I trust this gun enough to keep it on the night stand next to my Bible and my glasses. Too heavy for CCW, but just right for home protection. I like 10mm's for my auto as much as I like .41 mag for my wheel guns. They just fell right for me.

I have a Glock 20SF and a Glock 29SF and like them both a lot. Deer hunted couple years ago with the G20 and killed a 5 pt buck. It seemed to work fine. I use the 6 inch Lone Wolf barrel to hunt with.

JULY 13, 2015 | REBORED BARRELS—Sadly, there are some unwelcome changes coming. With the untimely death of my friend and colleague Jim Dubell, owner of Delta Gun Shop and Clearwater Reboring, effective immediately, we can no longer accept orders for projects involving rebored barrels. There is a chance his reboring equipment will soldier on in the capable hands of a former employee. We will advise as events unfold.

Just to throw it out there, I love my Blackhawk Buckeye convertible in 38-40 and 10mm. Still working on loads for the 10, but the 38-40 is very accurate.
