Hello friends,

I have a 1903 Springfield, made by Remington. It is a great cast bullet shooter. When I bought it it had already been sporterized with a modified wooden stock and a new Williams rear sight.

I would like to replace the stock with a synthetic one like the Hogue Overmold series and then parkerize or duracoat the metal.

Unfortunately, I can't seem to find a decent polymer stock for a 1903. Mauser stocks are everywhere. Can a Mauser 98 large ring stock be made to fit the 1903? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Steve in N CA

I don't think a Mauser stock will work.

Champion makes a stock for the 1903-A3… Available through Natchez Shooter's Supply about $90.00. Just received one for a Sporter build so I could shoot the completed barreled action.. while I am "Patiently" finishing the, from scratch, wooden stock.
Nothing fancy but very good general fit for the action…{barrel is basically free from the front of the action}
My gun… 1903-A3 action with 1903 bolt and Mag/trigger metal/ Timmney trigger… Douglas Barrel in 7x57.
First trip to range with iron [receiver] sights and Pivi Partisan 139gr factory ammo shot well 1 to 1.5moa at 100 with no apparent stock shift.
Reloading underway…scope should be here next week.
