Bought one for my wife because she enjoys shooting the Marlin 60. I'm not going to pay the prices for current 22's so decided to get her the Ruger, she just doesn't know it yet. I took it to range yesterday and was impressed. Shot well, smooth cycling, and easy to handle. I fired about 50 full powered jacketed, 10 with 4gr of Trailboss which was about like 22lr, then 10 with 8gr of 2400 which was like 22mag, each of the last two with the Lee 22 Bator. Didn't notice any leading but haven't actually cleaned it yet. Sure hope she likes it or I'll have to try again! Great little rifle.

I have the American Compact in 223. I have only used factory jacketed so far and it is 1/2" - 3/4" groups at 100. Real happy with it. I was wondering how the 1 in 8" twist barrel would go with cast, good to hear.

I cleaned the rifle today and the bore was bright, shiny and leadless! Now to start working up accurate loads.

Excellent, make sure they get to shoot lots of nasty stuff that we aren't allowed to shoot, lol.
