A seller online advertising sheet lead fluxed 3 times and has a Brinell of 6, melted
into ingots.
Is that good for round ball casting with out fluxing again ?
This is my first go round with casting.

Cast them and shoot them, it is dead soft lead. Dont be surprised to see 750f or hotter to cast good round balls. If you are using a bottom pour pot a pea sized bit of beeswax on top of the lead will keep oxidation down.

the softer the better for round ball muzzle loader. round balls work best with slow twist.

Some use beeswax ,some use saw dust ,some use chemical mixes of unknown stuff.
What has been your choice of flux ?

Don't hesitate. Cast hot, cast fast. If it doesn't seem like work your going too slow.

My choice for casting would be Beesway and 2nd choice would be candle wax. Sawdust is good for cleaning up the rough dirty lead in your smelting pot, but not for a bottom pour casting pot. I don't like commercial flux. A few do but it seems like most on here don't either.
