And Navy Veteran, dad died at 0530 this morning. Thankfully he knew I was with him when he drew his last breath.

He has achieved victory over this life , he is with his lord . I pray you and your family recover quickly from the grief of his passing to enjoying the good memories he left you . Praise GOD and may he give you strength .

Yes it does get better but it takes a long time. I have very fond memories of dad and think of him often even though it has been 19 years. Doesn't seem possible. I am glad you were able to be with him at the last. It means a lot to a son to be there. Prayers for you and your family at this hour of your loss. God grant you peace that passes human understanding just for having known your dad during all those good times.

I'm sorry to hear that. I can only offer prayers and my sincerest condolences. I know what you're going through, as I recently lost my mom about 3 weeks ago.

Sorry for your loss. Seem like yesterday I lost my pop but it's going on three years. Often I'll be working on or as he would said "puttering" on something that will trigger a fond memories. It is my hope you will experience the same.

I lost my dad in 1999 and I know it is something that you dread but he is with God and watching over you and your family....he will continue to walk with you and your family as long as you all remember him! God and Heaven got a good one and we are worse for his loss!

Just saw this, and so sad to hear. Praying for you my Brother. My Dad is a WW II Navy Vet. This hits home.

I know where you are coming from, dad is on the short side of life. He only has ashort time left on earth. Being a WWII Vet we will bary him in national cem. here in Tn. My heart is with you and your family.
