Was at gun shop and saw a Marlin 336, Nice wood, clean bore in 35 Rem. Had a no name 3x9 scope, asked how much without scope, $275. Training a new guy how to do a gun sale and I asked if I got a training discount, $265.

Had to take it.

Yesterday, And no Bubba. Just a scope base to remove. Sling swivels installed, front is the type that fits over mag tube.

Nice find, plenty of people are of the opinion 35 remington may never come back, not realizing some is showing up.

Since he was obviously desperate to give it away, you should have told him you hate white line spacers and beat him down to $220...

It's been available the whole time. It's just come in waves. But it's been a seasonal run for a long time so it's availability has been sporadic.

I would have asked if they had any more at that price. Around here $500 is the norm so anything less and you did well.

I got mine 2 years ago at an Oaks show. Not nearly as nice condition, $350 from a private seller. I was tickled pink!

Not everyone holds the 35 Remington Marlin 336 in the high regard that many of us here do. In many locales it can be purchased for a very reasonable price as Bearcove did. When I see them around here they are pretty reasonable as well, just not quite the outstanding price Bearcove lucked into.

Picked up one myself from a lgs for 325 a month ago. Have a straight stock 336 in 35 already but couldn't resist adding another to the shelf. Also recently found a 85 percent 444 Marlin lever for 275 hereabouts. Felt guilty taking the guy down from 325...well a little bit. Both were pre-safety models. Seems they believe these 'odd to them' calibers just don't justify fetching their premium prices. Great news for us cast shooters though I says!

I like the .35 Rem, too.

In fact, I just recently bought one - a VG (98%) Remington 141 pumpgun, that replaces a .35 Remington Model 14 pumpgun I had.
