Added a new barrel to my collection. It is one of my all time favorite calibers and having owned guns built by John himself I just am enamoured with the caliber.

The barrel is 10" heavy full length.

Deep dish crown.

The load I love and always use on whitetail deer in my revolvers is 14.4 grains of HS-6 The bullet us a WFN GC 331 grains. the Lube is Bens Lube tumble lubed twice and sized to .477.

Average Velocity is 1137 with Deviation of 10 FPS for 5 shots.

Very mild and fun to shoot.

I have a red dot on it now so at 70 yards groups ran around 3".

My favorite in the BFR too. Deer drop 99% of the time. I use my WFN 420 gr with 26 gr of 296, Fed 155 primer, 1329 fps. I have had some 1/2" groups at 100 with the Ultra Dot.
The 400 gr Lee is great with 15 gr of HS-6.

325-355 WFN has become my favorite I once shot big baloney doe standing facing me at 35 yards the bullet ran the entire length of the deer and plowed into the hillside behind her. I have had several 475 Linebaugh rifles as well. I also have nice 420 grain plain base mould built by Veral Smith and those heavy weights also in that 1100-1200 are accurate and penetrate deep. I did tests years ago 40+ inches of deep penetration with the 475. Not though I mostly like the reduced loads still very effective on animals up to elk within a limited range.

I thought about the BFR but after owning one of Johns guns I think I would be disappointed. I know they are nicely built guns I have a BFR 30-30 it shoots really well and is allot of fun.

It is just a little on appearance but you would love the BFR. Hard to beat John's guns or Jacks but they do work.
What the TC will do should be great but I hated the trigger guard on my large knuckle. The .475 is no ***** cat for sure.

The trigger guards on the T/C Encores are a serious hazard! lol My 15" 454 Casull bloodies my middle finger every time if I don't wear a glove. GP

I would have to think that full power loads would be a handful in an encore.

Not that bad really but they get you're attention that's for sure and yes that trigger hard is a bitch on the knuckle. But I like the mid weight bullets like the 325-355 not real fan of the single action grips not even the Bisley. Much prefer the double action grip shape and the encore grip. Heavy bull barrel 8" has some mass. A even after allot,of,rounds full, house I have come to appreciate the midrange weight and velocity.

I like the BFR guns like I said in another thread the 30-30 I have is scary accurate much better than me. But I just rather have the double action frame and grips probably because of my many thousands of rounds down range with defensive handguns.

Groo: My support hand is low enough to not get bit but my shooting hand takes a beating with full house loads. GP
