Bought a Marlin Camp rifle in 9mm a while back after posting here for recommendations on a rifle using pistol ammo . I have shot it and am well satisfied , my daughter loves it .

Just reading in seems the buffers fail on these rather quickly . There are several aftermarket buffers and was looking for any experiences you may have had .

My Brother in law has a camp-9. I put one on his that I ordered from Numrich. Thousands of rounds through it since then and no problems.

Think I got mine from Numrich also, blue ones. I have the 45 camp and also replaced the spring. Bought a spare set just in case.

Blue one from Brownells or Midway.

My original buffer fell apart and jammed the action.
I bought new buffer from MidwayUSA.com and all is well.
A great little gun.
I wish they still made them

Go here, you won't be sorry. Never shot 1989 marlin Camp 9. First time out, scrabble in the receiver. Hooked up
with these folks, boom. Like new, maybe better, don't know for sure. Runs like a top.

Actually prefer the camp 9 to the 45 as the 45 has a bit more power vs weight of carbine. The 9 just seems to handle better.

Upgrade your recoil spring with the wolff extra power spring when you replace the buffer. Weak spring and bad buffer results in a cracked stock.

BlackJack is the way to go. Mine crumbled in my Camp45 and caused my stock to crack. I bought Black Jack and it is all good now.

My thoughts too. The 45 just didnt' handle as well. My Mom still has the 9mm carbine with her in FL!

Sounds like the factory buffer is defiantly not the way to go . I'm going to check on the options presented here . Thanks for all the info !

I just ordered a new recoil spring thanks for the heads up. I did not think of changing it.
