143849Some of you remember a month or so ago I had a disaster the tool box leaked on the work truck and Mary Beth the working do everything mini 14 was a causality . Well to do right be here she got a make over, her metal is bear, just sand blasted and waiting a date with the pc gun a a trip to the hot spa. Here wood, never very attractive has now come out of here cacoon. A dark provincial stain and 4 coats of my special home made varnish. Thing the barrel and recover are getting different colors, a titanium barrel and od green reciver. I'll post it when it's done

That's the hard way to get a make over but I'm glade to see any of them saved even when the looks don't appeal to everyone. 1 saved is always better than 2 built in my book.

These 2 came out of a bucket of rebar next stop the crusher.

The 1 on the bottom was the bent bolt after some of Goodsteel's handy work.
The straight bolt kept her GI parts and got a coat of cold blue and the same stock with 7 coats of true oil.

I remember that. Glad we saved her. That stock came out a lot prettier than when it was brought here. I put on the trueoil and "surprise!!!" had some nice figure!

Nice work guys, I'm not even dreaming or trying to make something that purdy, she has and will be a working gal in truck and tractor and barn, killing vermin and being handled ruff an tough, but she will be wearing much more durable wood and metal and will have the upmost of my meger skill put into her.
