Just picked one up hundred percent stock factory barrel. What has anybody been using in them?. I had a Glock 17 in about 1986 shot quite a bit of cast through before I found out it was dangerous. didn't have a problem and haven't owned a glock since then and I know it's become dangerous to shoot cast but I'm just curious when load people are using.

I'm pretty sure that myth has been debunked well here... ;)

Many are shooting casts through std factory glock bbls with no issues. There are a ton of option to coat, as well as lube to eliminate leading in a 45acp. I shoot powder and hitek coated casts as well as BLL lubed from my 30, no issues

Kinda what I thought. I'll just use my old standard 1911 loads for the Glock then. Like I said I ran cast through a 9 millimeter Glock but I haven't played with any of the 45. What diametet bullet are you guys running in the 45 glocks?

As long as your boolit fit is good you'll be fine. Just keep and eye on it until you establish that it is not leading the barrel.

Glock barrels are coated with Melonite and are very slippery inside and out. I have never had to do more than run a piece of Blue Paper Towel thru the barrel a couple of times to clean it.

Your standard .45 ACP loads should work fine however I found that 200gr SWC's tend to hang up as the boolit contacts the feed Ramp and the top of the chamber simultaneously. Adjusting OAL fixed that.

I like the Lee 230 gr TC bullet over 4.5gr Bullseye in my G36. Gobbles them up like a fat kid with M&Ms.

My 30 likes them too..And I also have to change the seating depth with
the lyman swc cast boolits to make them chamber.

My G21SF loves the 200 Lee SWC, I use about 4.2 gr of Wst or Bullseye depending what I have. Very big holes in paper, I once ran 750 rounds in an afternoon thru it, only one malfunction at about 700 rounds due to grime buildup from lube I think. Overall the gun has about 6-8k rounds thru it. No hint of lead. My G30S is also good on lead but wont feed the 200SWC. It gets the 230gr TC.
My G22 and G35 are awful on lead. 100 rounds and than spend 2 hours cleaning them.

I just ran the ideal 454190 sized .452 (and a few unk commercial 255 flat nose)with a bit over 5g of unique. It shot very well with no leading for the 40 test shots.bullets were 14 bhn for my bullets and 20 for the commercial.
so far so good.it shot better than ball ammo and was really flinging brass. I'll have to chronograph it to see how hot it is.

I'm going to try the 200 swc and 230 Lee's you guys recommended next.
