Chance to get a Marlin 336 35 Rem, where do you find brass?

I have a chance to get a 35 Rem Marlin 336 for a good price but I've been looking and cant find reasonable brass. I can get the die and mold but brass I'm coming up short. Is this a bad road? Should I start looking at a 30-30 instead? Help. thanks.

Grumpa is the easiest place to get 35 Remington brass. .....at least without hoping for some to show up used somewhere.

I bought a 336 in 35 rem and it is one of the most fun rifles I own and it is a shooter just my .02 but I would get a hold of grumpa get some brass order a RCBS 35-200 Mold and have fun

Buy factory ammo or buy converted brass from Grumpa. The factory ammo is a seasonal run but pops up in batches every now and then. It's well worth buying that Marlin. I don't want to see progress stopped but at the same time there is nothing wrong w/ the 35 Remington. Bigger, faster, more recoil seems to be what everyone wants for some reason.

I've since used commercial 308 family brass and it doesn't require neck turning.

Hornady Leverevolution uses standard brass and seems to be every where right now.

Buy the gun! I have one, dies, a mould, and went through the same thing you're going through with brass. But it was worth it. Now I've accumulated about 600 pieces of brass. Given that I anneal all my rifle brass, my great grandchildren will be shooting that gun!

Buy it, once you try it you will not regret. Lots of good suggestions already given. In addition Remington is supposed to make ammo again this year, so when it hits the shelf get some more. Probably the quickest way to get some starter brass is to purchase from the member here that makes & sells it.

I would also suggest that you not hesitate to buy the rifle - I didn't, buying a nice .35 Remington Model 141 pumpgun two months ago.

Awesome round, RP factory rounds are usually pretty reasonable but would opt for the Hornady if you can get it, I think it's better brass. Hear lots of good things about Grumpa as well but I have a pretty good stash of RP brass. These rifles are pretty easy on the brass, should get several firings even without annealing.

Fun caliber to plink with. Pistol bullets at low velocities work.

Hornady ammo is now on the shelves and easy to get. While some debate over the LE loads I have had excellent results with them on deer. I shot up a couple of boxes of factory Remingtons and now am shooting up a few Hornady's Hornady brass may be available?? It a good caliber, can be loaded with cast 357 pistol bullets and is kind of fun.

Go with Grumpa's brass. He does it right!

The day you have a chance to get a 35 Remington and go with a 30-30 instead is a very bad day. 35 Remington trumps 30-30 on everything but brass availability, and we have Grumpa, so it's not a question at all!!!

Agree with GoodSteel, I have bought several different calibers of brass from Matt (Grumpa). You will not be disappointed. The brass and his work are top notch and he makes brass available to us who shoot some of the less popular cartridges.

IMHO: Don't wait on anyone individual or manufacture. Go out and buy factory new cartridges for awhile. You have the pleasure of shooting your new rifle and the brass brand you want to re-reload having a factory 35 head-stamp later on.
