Has anybody tried this? It is a surplus powder available from Bartlett's for $100.00/6lb jug. It is supposed to be "like Unique" in burning rate and is a double based ball powder.

I must admit that was my first thought also.

I'll be anxious to see the results. It seems like Jeff has had very little that was faster than 300 winmag speed within the last couple years.

If you *need* Unique and can't find it anywhere else at a reasonable price, I guess this would do. The current price on Unique at Powder Valley is $121.75, but that is for an 8 lb jug and the BR-5 is for a 6-lb jug. That means that Unique would be the equivalent of $91.31 for 6 lbs. Of course, the problem is that Powder Valley is out of Unique right now.

I got a jug Saturday. A couple friends were in need of powder, and nothing was available local so I agreed to go in on the buy so they could get the hazmat waived. I will be trying it in 38 special, and will post the results.
