I found a box of pewter items at a yard sale last weekend. First time actually looking for some...

143322

One mug was aluminum, but the other unmarked one turned out to be pewter.

Surprisingly, everything but one small plate has at least .5% Pb in it! Is that "lead free"?

Melted everything down tonight, into bullet shaped ingots. About a 1/2 ounce each.

99.5% lead free. Great score. 90%+ tin?

It all shot 88-89%.

sounds about right, you'll usually have some lead and antimony in there.

Shot with one of those junk yard guns? The more output I see from those things the less I trust them.

Done with a gun from where I work. It belongs to the QA/Inspection department.

The thing cost like $30,000! I trust it.

There was indeed Sb and Cu in them too...

That drill press has to weigh more than 5 pounds! [smilie=1: :drinks:

Congratulations! Really great prices!
