Lyman 429184 question

I picked up 4 molds from a guy awhile back and I know the 184 is for the old 44 russian but while i was looking at it the nose side of the mold is drilled out out. I assume its for a punch of some sort butdont know. Could it be somebody modified it for a flat point or hollow point?? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!

Sounds like the blocks were drilled for a hollow point pin. The old Ideal moulds with the integral handles didn't have the retaining screw at the bottom. The pin was held in there by the block halves when they were closed.
