Anybody have first hand experience with Talon grips on their gun?

I found them on Amazon when looking for a wrap around rubber grip for my Glock 27. They are a laser cut sheet of textured rubber made specifically for your model of gun. They wrap around and affix with adhesive, then set by pressure and a heat gun or hair dryer. Not permanent.

I checked out their website and found it cheaper to order directly through them. Only $17 a unit with free shipping.

I have them on severalGlocks and a Ruger. I really like them because they are tacky enough to hold on to and much thinner than the skateboard tape- based ones

Sounds great!

i ordered a set of rubber this morning. I like the free postal shipping they offer. If they work out, I may prefer a set for my duty gun. I would like to feel a set of the granular, but I'm sure they would be hell on my shirts.

I love them!
I use the rubber ones.
Best thing you can do to your gun besides shoot it.

I've got a set of the Talon "sand paper" type on my Kahr P380. WOW....what a world of difference. I recommend them to everyone.

Just curious. I looked at their site and know a lot of folks love 'em. I just got a new Shield - haven't had the chance to shoot it yet so don't know yet how the grip will work of me - I might be interested in putting a set on it.

Anyway . . . the "sandpaper" style . . . how "abrasive" is it on your hands . . . especially during an extended range session where you might put or 3 hundred rounds though your handgun?

The reason I ask . .I've had two revolvers with checkered grips that would make my hands "raw" by the end of a range session. First was my New Vaquero - stock plastic grips but the checkering was so pointed it was like holding a rasp when shooting. I knocked the points off with fine sandpaper - finally put a nice set of smooth wood "gunfighter" grips on it - problem solved. The other one was my Smith Model 36 snub J frame - stock wood grips really gave my hands fits. I switched those out to a set of Pachmyer combat grips - love 'em.

Do the Talon "sandpaper" wraps chew your hands up or is the "grit" fine enough to give a good grip without causing blisters?

The grit on my G22 Talon grips has never bothered my hands and I habitually go through 200-300 rds at a time. It's just a nice grip feel for me.

I personally wouldn't put them on an M&P. My 45 has a really nice texture and tacky feel to it already. Glocks, yes I would and should on my G22. But any small grip pocket gun it's worth it!
