Having read some good and some not-so-good reviews on Lyman and RCBS thermometers, I found a nice one made by Trerice, sold by Sprung Services.
If you're in the market for one and you're not currently boycotting eBay, you can grab one there for about $45, shipped.

Looks to me like it tops out at about 400 degrees f. or did I misread it? I think you need one that goes to 900 or 1000 degrees F. Just my worthless 2 cents worth.....Wes

scroll down to the spec page and you'll see one that goes from 200 to 1000

Yeah, look for a part # starting with B836 for the right range.

I got this link from a post several weeks ago. I got a 3" dial, angle head, 6" long probe 200-1000 for under $20.00. I have only used it once so I can't give a longer test report.
It took them around 3 days to ship it, but nothing bad came from the transaction.

I like mine because everything about it nice heavy stainless but for $20, yours looks like a helluva deal!
