Try 40.3 grains of IMR 3031, with a 120 Sierra sp, mine shoots groups like that and under at 100yds!

Nice shootin. Quite normal for 6.5, i use reloader 19 and 4831, 139gr or heavier.
Always amazed at their accuracy off the rack. Reloaded ammo always out shots the store bought stuff. I have yet to try cast waiting for Mihec cruise missles to made.
Be safe

Good shooting with that sweed. What scope mount do you have on it?

I've owned 3 Sweeds and none of them came close to needing a .270" diameter booolit. Largest was .266". Don't like sizing down .004" or more.

Not to difficult to adapt a Burris base to the M96's rear sight base.

Not to difficult.....

What Larry said, true.. Mostly you can adapt these to rifles with no handguard to get in the way.
I bought these 3 off ebay when doing R&D. There are some very viable possibilities with these.

I've been out for awhile, about a year ago I built a 6.5, and it shoots great with 4064 and Horn. 129gr. Been wanting to try some cast boolits, but I haven't got a mold yet.

Larry I like the looks of your scout mount and would like to try setting one up for my 96 if it does not require a machine shop to complete. Any details you could offer would be appreciated. My old eyes really could use the benefit of optics but I really don't want to have the receiver drilled & tapped. Thanks

About 20 years ago I built my scout on a M96 that had a cracked stock and a muzzle wrecked by careless cleaning. I cut it to 22", removed the sight elevator and clamped the barreled action in a pair of V-blocks. I milled the ears off the rear sight with an end mill in my drill press, and drilled and tapped four 8/32 screws into the old rear sight base for a 4" bit of weaver rail to mount the Leupold scout scope. I epoxy bedded it into a $59.00 Ramline stock and went to the range. It shoots in the .3s to this day, which is as good as I can see through the scout scope. I think I have a little under $300 in the whole rig. It did give me a scare one year sighting in for deer season. Turned out the mount screws had loosened up. Guess I never locktighted them putting it together.
