New Ruger BH ready for boolits

Many thanks to Doug Guy for the work he did on a new model .45 Colt Blackhawk. Finally found a Blackhawk in my area in .45 Colt, and snapped it up. Put a pin gauge in the cylinder throats, and darn....measured .450. Tried three separate loads for the Lee 452-255-RF at 15 yards, terrible groups. Magnificent groups from some Hornady 250 gr. HP/XTP I loaded, but those don't count. Got the revolver back yesterday from Doug. He opened up the the throats and worked on the forcing cone. The best group before the work was from a load of 700-X," best" being 3"+ at 15 yards. Today that same combo was all shots within a 1" circle. Amazing, thanks Doug!

Taking the the throats to .4525 and taking the forcing cone to 11 degrees makes a huge difference in groups with these new Rugers. I had all my 45 caliber Blackhawks done like this and they are amazing shooters now with cast.
