Pat,

My Mom had early onset of Alzheimers and the hardest moment was when were talking and she asked me if I was her father or brother. She knew I was someone special but could not make the connection. Your Dad knows but just can't make the connection. That is how I look at it as when it got bad before she passed I could tell she felt something. I am sorry anyone has to go through the effects of that devastating disease.

Yeah it's bad. Mainly in the evening. He thinks I'm there to get his girl. I had to take a steel bar from him he found on my bone pile. He's still damn strong. looked at him, and asked- you gonna hit me with that? He says no, but he ain't giving it up... lol took it from him and told him he'll feel better in the morning. Next morning doesn't remember a damn thing about it.

I remember mom in tears because dad introduced her as "his girlfriend".

Yes married 64 years but he still remembered enough to go to mom for a hug and kiss every day as she visited the home.

I was just Young fellow.
