To all my friends here at cast boolits my 8 month old grandson Avery needs your prayers. He was getting sick today and daughter abd son in law couldnt get it under control. So a trip to local hospital. They got the vomiting under control and a enemma revieled blood in stool. It was found his bowels are twisted up around them selves. They tried what the nurse called an air method to get them straightened out but it didnt completely work so He may be looking at surgery. Hes 8 months old and needs prayers. I thank you all. DAughter called ths morning at 3:00, Little Avery was awake and in recovery from the surgery everything went well and if continues He will be released to go home in 12-24 hours. He was doing good. Only sounded like the had to remove a minimal amount of the bowel where it had started to grow back on it self. Been a rough night but its startingto look up some now. Again I thank all for the prayers and thoughts Country Gent

Well Just talked to Daughter a little while ago.. Little Avery is doing well and eating good, pretty much hourly feedings right now, but then he dosnt often turn down food. Doctors think they have the issues taken care of and if things continue as they are He will be coming home around 4:00 this afternoon. A great Faters day present, Him getting better so quickly.

Prayers for healing and comfort. I would add that my stepdaughter had the same problem at 6 months and she is now a perfectly healthy 13 year old.

I'm exceedingly happy that Avery is doing so well. Went through major surgery with my younger teenage son when he was 7 months old. Same time 2 year old was in from dehydration from Norovirus. The whole family was living at the hospital for 4 days and Mom and the 7 month old for a week.

Babies are surprisingly resilient and your little guy obviously has a strong gene pool backing him up.

Didn't catch your post until now because I spent much of last night in the ER myself. All is OK now.

It truly is a great Father's (and Grandfather's) Day. Couldn't be happier for you.

Well he should come home tomorrow morning or early afternoon now. He had a little fever from the surgery. But on the plus side hes eating well and wnting to play and crawl around. Doctors told Daughter there was only a 5% chance of it happening again. She is gettin tired and you just dont get good rest in the hospitals. Son and law and little Jack are comng home tonight. But Avery is doing much better.

Well Smokey Here is the post. He came home this morning Daughter called about 9 to say they were almost home. Hes doing good and wanting to play crawl and stand. She said it was like nothing had happened to him he was on the go and hardly slowed down today. He has an appointment next week to be checked out again. Doctors claim there is only a 5% chance of it happening again so good news there also. Hes a strong little guy and growing fast. Again I thank everyone for your thoughts and prayers Im sure they helped alot.

Thanks country gent. Lucky for Avery he will never remember this difficult event in his life and for Avery's family, with time this will be acknowledged as just a speed bump in his early years.

Again, all is as it should be.

I realize that this is just a bump in the road of his life. In a few years he will have forgotten this and will be just a memory for us ( Parents and grandparents). On the other hand It so hard seeing one so young and small suffering and not understanding it. Its hard to deal with and just takes so much to try and help him along. Shoot even a skinned knee on his brother (2 1/2 years old) is heart wrenching for me. But as I tell my Daughter thy are boys there will be skinned knees and elbows, bumped foreheads, a few stitches, and possile a broken bone or 2. Boys will be boys and have been for hundreds of years, They get rambuncgioys, they rough house, they dont always think things thru.

Country gent, Thank you for passing along the good news. He will not even remember this later. One of my daughters, when she was fifteen months old was in an accident. Long story short, we were told she didn't have much of a chance of making it and would never know any of us if she did make it. LOTS of prayers and 6 weeks in intensive care, she finally opened her eyes, looked up at me and mouthed "Daddy." She is now 32 and has given me a wonderful grandson. God is good.

Praise the Lord for His healing hand involved in the medical process. I knew an old Baptist preacher when asked if he believed in divine healing he would always say there is no other kind. Avery is proof of that. Sounds like all is well with him and the family.
