This one caught my eye. Uses .452 pellets (geeze, I might have a couple of them lay'n round)
Anyone have first hand experience with one of these Korean built beauties?
I'm gonna ask some stoopid questions.
Why not lube the projectiles? Seems that would make them seal better as well as keep the rifling clear. I can't think of anything it would harm. comments?
If one wanders into my safe, I'll do a complete review.

I know nothing about big bore beauties like the one you speak of but if it was me I'd lube with Johnson's wax paste thin coat alone to create a thin thin lube that doesn't gather and gum up that would assist it going down the bore esp if it has a slight choke...those are known to lead if using a conical.

Oh btw better bring your full tank w.

Shot No. 1: 730 fps
Shot No. 2: 693 fps
Shot No. 3: 644 fps
Shot No. 4: 546 fps
Shot No. 5: 453 fps
Shot No. 6: 364 fps

id fill up every shot or two

And slug the barrel for sure....they varie from one barrel to another.

I think that lube in the barrel can detonate (maybe only combustion) when subjected to high pressure compressed air, this can create an even higher pressure.

I really don't like that shot string, how big is the reservoir?

Oh they're right about lube causing hi pressure yikes good call!

the resevore no matter the size just can't possibly hold enough pressure to keep these guys shooting for the long term like the 22 and 17 cal do. Even Quacknbush has a hard time keeping the strings long. Waskpui has a Quacknbush

I think the tank is 500 cc maybe if your shooting that day just leave it hooked up to your scuba or high pressure paintball tank if that's a possible option and when hunting you'll only need 1-3 successful shots shooting at larger game that day prob til lunch time when you can fill up at the truck

Air prymid says this about the 500cc version

How many shots will you get from your 500cc Big Bore 44 909 Light Hunter? Our tech department filled their dual-tank air rifle to 3,000 psi, loaded it with 166-grain bullets and let loose! They shot the first 6 shots on high power. The first shot was 745 fps. Shot 6 was 713 fps.

I have several Korean BB . I use dry slide or dry spry moly . And thing like these produces that dry will work . A soft lube will foul the barrel in just a few shoots . There is no heat to burn the lube out of the barrel and it builds up real fast . Most of the Koreans like RB . And I have not found one yet that likes its lead any harder than 10 -12 bhn . Marvin

That result is much diff. than what you reported, your's fell off after the first shot, and prolly wouldn't group, their results would group up to shot #6, I think that like most manufacturers, they padded their results.

Most off the shelf big bores are designed for the first shot to be the fastest and fall off from there. A good tune should be able to get you a 3 shot curve. That is the 1st shot is say 750 2nd shot is 760 and and the 3rd is 750 after that it keeps falling.

You did not mention what your fill psi was or if it is a single or double tube . But you might be able to get a curve and tighten things up some by taking it up 50 -100 psi . 3100 psi is my tops for a Korean . You might already know this but you have to drop the air fast when you bleed the line or your fill can change a 100 psi real fast .Marvin

I do not own a sam yang. These came from air pyrimid (both of those reported datas) just trying to be helpful and bring to you what one of the foremost airgun sellers are reporting. As to tank fill I'm guessing they started at full full and shot it down for the results to dictate when does the fps really suffer

I figured I'd do the internet research and post it as I've become just as interested as you. There is a awesome YouTube video of a guy after a medium tune as he calls it shooting diablos and roundballs at 30,50,80 yards

A lot of the Sam Yang guys like these bullets/pellets. Originally designed as a cap and ball round, it seems to work well when cast in pure lead and not lubed.146012
