185GC OGF on left and 180PB Secant on right.Group on the left is quarter inch at 50 yards. 3 shots.Group on right is 9/16 at 50 yards.3 shots.I'm glad it's getting warm enough to shoot my levergun again and it sure likes the 185GC boolits.14.0 grains H-110 and CCI 550 primers.

Who is the Boolit made by? Or what mold? But how does it do at 100 yards? Thank You. :drinks:

Haven't tried it at 100 yards yet.The molds are made by Dan at Mountainmolds.com.I have 5 and two more on order. His quality is excellent. You can design them to fit your gun very well. The boolits from them shoot well and it is easy to cast good boolits also.

I recently received a 180gr bullet sized .362 for my oversized bore in .35 Rem from Dan and Mtn Molds and the brass mold pours very consistant diameters and the boolits fly like a dream! Having several molds from lee, lyman, rcbs, ohaus....I can highly recommmend his mold as it is the highest quality mold I own.

What are the boollits sized at? I would really like to see what they do at 100.

Will they feed from the tube?

Are you using Magnum cases?

Any possibilty of seeing some closeups of the boolits and size of the meplat.

I have been looking at the LBT 160 and 180 FN for my Marlin. I ordered some from Montana Bullet Works along with the RCBS 200 to try out to see how they shoot. I just got my rifle and cut the carrier back because I couldn't get 158 swc or the 160 FN to load from the tube. I have to put it back together tonight to see if I can get it to feed from the tube.

Thanks,

Crabo

The 185GC will shoot 1 1/2 inchs at 100 yards consistantly. It has a 70% metplat and a 80 thou driving band. You can go up to 100 thou to get closer to the lands. The nose is .325 long and is a TAN OGF.They are sized .359.I have a 180 secant PB and a 200 Tan OGF PB that shoot well also but not as consistant as the Gas Check boolits.I'll try to get some pictures up when my wife will do it,she is much better at this computer stuff than me.

45r, 185GC OGF? Is this your design or a stock mold from Mountain Molds? Whats an OGF?

Are you using Magnum cases and what powder?

Thanks,

Crabo

It is my design and I use 14.0 grains H-110 and CCI-550 primers.OGF stands for Ogival Flatpoint.Use Tan on the design page for this type of boolit.

A factory mold that is very close to mine is the saeco 180 flat point gas check #354.They are available from midwayusa.com.
