I thought I had seen lots of data for this bullet but now I'm a little confused. I have Lee and Hornady manuals. I went and bought a Lee dbl cavity 452-255-RF mold but now I'm having trouble finding data for that bullet.Maybe I'm having a brain fart here.....I have Bullseye, Titegroup, Trail Boss and h-110.

Fast burning powders are not the best choice for a heavy boolit and a large case. BE will work at lower velocities. H110 is good in the Ruger Only loads and does not like to be downloaded below min. starting charges. Don't shoot these in a std .45 Colt like the Italian clones, a genuine Colt SAA, OR the medium framed Rugers, but in a BH, Bisley, SBH, they are fine.

Lots of people use Trailboss for cowboy loads. Titegroup works but I think it's another fast powder. There are a good many threads on this forum for loading .45 Colt and a lot of info for the 255 RF boolit in .45 Colt as well. Do some searches and you will find data.

A charge of 6.5 grains of Bullseye with a 255-grain bullets is standard pressure and approximates factory velocity. In my Rugers I use 7.2 grains of Bullseye for 1000 fps from a 4-5/8" barrel. If you need more velocity than that you need a slower powder.

Go to the Hodgdon web sight for load data with trailboss and that 255 boolit, may not show a 255 load but
will for 250 just load down 1gr.
The load will be light shooting but you can shoot it all day.
