I bought another No4Mk1 today, I noticed it was FTR'd, I know what that means.
But, I found some more markings, one was the letter "U" and the other was RSF on the wrist, what did these letters stand for???
The only thing I could find that may match these letters is, Royal Scots Fusliers, The receiver and bolt numbers and even the mag matches and has a shiny bore, I hope it shoots cast bullets.
Any info would help, thanks gents,

Probably the most knowledgeable site on Lee Enfields.

I had a look with a magnifying glass and some better lighting, the RSF is actually ROF, it looks like only half of the O was stamped right making it look like an S instead of a O in the afternoon lighting.
The milsurp mod was very helpful, thanks all.

Does it have the English 5 groove barrel?

Nope, it has the lefty twist two groovy barrel, it was possibly rebarreled then when the FTR took place?
