I have made several searches and haven't been able to find a going retail (not MSRP) price on a Buff Classic. Can anyone provide the price these sold for back when they were being made. I need this for a 45-70cal gun.
Thanks,
Pete

I paid $350-400 back in '08 if I recall.

Before the BC became a popular entry level rifle, I paid $225 for a used BC with a factory fitted 38-55 barrel in 2004 as my 1st BPCR.
Am happy that I did ... first range test was a 5 shot 5 1/2 x 3 3/4" group at 600yds with 3 holes that could be covered by a silver dollar. Had no camera for a picture but 2 club members witnessed the target

I paid $350 for mine, used, back in 2012. It is supposedly one of the Talo limited runs. SN range of the run was, again supposedly, between GB001 and GB300 but my rifle's sn is higher than GB300. An email to Talo resulted in a bit of a BS answer. Anyway, wish I had paid less.........

.

I paid $299, new, when I bought one just after they were first introduced in the mid-90's.

It was marked "Wesson & Richardson", and came w/o sights (I installed a WGRS rear & a Lyman globe front on mine).

sad to see the bc go the way of the dodo. what a same. it was a perfect introduction to bpcr at a sane price tag.

I just saw a 38-55 BC -- IIRC, store was asking $550.

the 35-55 bc was discontinued way long ago, before the recent end of h&r. it was always kinda hard to find and acquire. handi's and the bc will be sorely missed. don't see anything taking their place.

Gun Broker had about three of them for sale this past week for a price of $400 and up. I wanted to buy another one to just have but other projects have stopped my gun buying for awhile. Later David
