Went by a shop today on the way home and there was one of those Marlin .41's.
Passed up getting one five years ago because it really just wasn't what I really wanted.
Are there alternatives?
Is Henry planning on a .41? Think I'll give them a shout.

I'm not aware of any other manufacturers that made production runs of them. AFAIK Marlin only made two runs and they were more than a few years apart. I haven't ever seen one at a LGS. If you are interested and the price is reasonable get it now because it could be quite a while before another crosses your path.

Well, you're probably right. After all, it is one of those that you can most likely get your money back on if you decide to part with it.

I always wanted the 94 in .41mag so I would have bought it. I don't mind shooting jacketed or cast..
I don't really need it ,so I am glad I didn't see it.I have my fathers old 1964 Marlin 336 original in .44mag
From what I saw him do with it in his lifetime, it is legendary..
He is dead now, but he was a hell of a shot ,and he taught me all I know about hunting..and he started me reloading back in 64-65
But I agree what you say..Maybe Henry will make one, but I seriously doubt it..I love the .38/40 but I don't expect anyone to reproduce it..

Always wanted one just because, but never found a live one to look at. Better grab while you can.

Cimmeron has been producing a .38-40 Model 73 for quite awhile, now.

Greetings
One interesting alternative is a Marlin 336 in 414 Supermag. Find a rusty bore 336 in 30-30. Sens it to JES reboring to get his .405 bore (.412 groove) and then chambered in 414 SM. I have no regrets getting it done. 265 grains to 285grains are awesome.
An even healthier option is send the same rusty bore 30-30 and get it rebored to 405JES. Think of it as a.41 444 This will near match the power of the 444. This caliber slings 300 grainers like a 444.
Just some affordable options that are swell caliber .41's. I have about $350 wrapped up in each rifle.
And I do have a Marlin CCL in 41 mag.

Marlin made three runs of the .41 Magnum 1894's. I missed out on the first run, but I have one from the second run and one from the third run. If you want to count the limited run of 251 they made for Davidson's in stainless steel with a 16.25" barrel, then there were four runs of .41's. I have the complete set of the Davidson's limited edition rifles, all serial numbered the same and unfired. Oh, and there was a small run of them in the Cowboy Limited, too.

My second run .41 Magnum Marlin is probably my most accurate of all my leveraction rifles. It's a joy to shoot.

My advice is to buy the one the OP saw, as there are no plans from Remington to make the 1894 in .41 Magnum again. They told me that for every .41 they could sell, they can sell ten in .357 Magnum.

Hope this helps.

Greetings
Anyone considered the possibility of Marlin doing a run of rifles for a private business.
Also I have read of individuals who transformed the Marlin 44 mags into caliber 41mag.

Most of the large firearms makers (Ruger, Marlin, Winchester & others) will make whatever, as long as they have a minimum (paid) order of at least 500 units - which, AFAIK, is how Davidson's & Lipsey's get their "limited editions".

IF you want a 41 magnum, you ought to be waiting for the next day the shop is open...checkbook or credit card in hand. While you're waiting, look up NONNEMAN (sp?) and see what he wants to build you one; you may be sleeping in the doorway of the shop Sunday night.

I did what you did on a SMITH & WESSON 624 for $300 several years ago. Saw it Saturday AM and waited until the shop opened Tuesday, BUT I got it. Dropped the ball the same way on a MARLIN Cowboy Rifle in 30/30 and took a long time to find another one.

Finding a 41 carbine is like finding a cute girl who thinks you're hot--it don't happen all that often. If you want one, you better buy the Marlin you see, because you could be watching your great grand children at play before the next one shows up.
