Is the Lyman Mag 25's scarcity due manufacturing problems at the outsourcing level?

Grab a Gun has them for $319

$360 with the rebate is $310 to your casting bench. That's a sweet deal for a shiny new Pro Melt! I sure could use another one! Alloy swapping is almost as bad as lube swapping in a sizer.

It's a downhill slide Beagle. Pretty soon your going to have 6 pro melts and 6 star sizers setting on you table. ;-)

everyone that claims to have the Pro Melt has high praise for it, hopefully it will be as good for me

That's an odd way of putting it. I doubt that people claim to have a Pro Melt if they don't. Mine is form the late '70s or early '80s. It just got a new pot liner at no charge from RCBS, still under warranty because it had started dripping. With the new liner it still works like new.

boy they shot up in price. I think my two are like 5 or 6 years old and I paid 200 bucks a piece for them on midway.

My work horse replaced a Lee 20 lbs drip-o-matic back in the 1980's and has been melting lead since then with no problem.
It will probably outlast me.

I won mine from an auction a few years ago. Pretty sure I paid about $250-75, shipped. Spending about $50 more than that, now, seems pretty good. That RCBS is simple well-built unit. Though it doesn't see much use with my Master Caster around, it's worth more to me than what the the used value would bring. Plus, it's green the best color in the universe

I'm about to be in the same boat. I just received a Master Caster on Thursday and an just waiting on the moulds I ordered from Accurate Moulds to arrive. Tom says he is 3 weeks behind, so I have probably 2 more weeks to wait. I don't see my Pro-Melt getting much use. The Pro-Melt has been an awesome pot and is worlds better than the Lee drip-o-matic it replaced.

I have an RCBS that is very old and RCBS complete rebuilt it for Free, all it cost me was the postage there. They are the best.

Guess thats one way to avoid having to break things down to change allow or sizers.
