I just checked my reserves this week and found that I have enough lead to make about 31000 250 grn boolits. Think that's enough for the next week or two?:happy dance:

1100 pounds is "a nice start." How many years do you plan to shoot?

Well, I am 62 now...I figure I got at least that long left. And I can always get more. [smilie=1:

wife ask me how much lead I have on hand. Told her around 400lb, why? she said I guess you need to go to salvage and get some more. So, guess I'll be going to get some more lead. What a woman, just gotta love her.

I have a single bucket of WW with probably close to 100lb in it. I'm new to casting, and that's the most I've ever had on hand. I guess we all had to start somewhere. I DO plan on regularly picking up a little here and there (more than I shoot) for the foreseeable future. I also plan on setting myself up with a way to reclaim most of what I shoot when I'm on private property.

Invite a lot of friends to shoot with you. That way you get more then YOU put in.

LOL - that's what I've been doing with brass at our annual-or-so shooting get-together. It's nice to be the only reloader there!

The only reason I don't have more is I am 62, and after 20 minutes of sifting slugs out of dirt my back has had it. Same thing with smelting. After doing a bucket that is about 3/4 full I need a half bottle of Ibuprofen. I think a half ton will last me a while. What I really need is dead soft.

At 73 I can sure relate to that. And my recliner is the only thing I have, that still fits me. Thank goodness I don't need as much time spent reloading, since I shoot less. It's funny how many of the things I put off doing, till after retirement, no longer interest me.
