after a little practice i think i am getting the hang of it.
44 cal .700 jacket 30 grains
300 grain core
swaged out perfect at .429
jackets just starts to wrap around ogive.
now got to load them up and try them in my 1-20 twist 444 handi rifle.
gonna have to invest in a cannelure tool soon.
i think i am hooked on swaging.
any constructive criticism is appreciated.

they do look pretty good.
I'd do some testing before using them for hunting though, that exposed lead will for sure make them open quickly.

Just love the looks of the nose. I bet they will kill deer. Might be too soft for buffalo.

Those bullets sure do look nice. They also look like bone smashers to me. Way to go.

If you want a bullet that heavy and you rifling will stabilize it, go for it. As long as the lead isn't touching the barrel it will be fine. A little less core and the bullet will be shorter and the jacket mouth will close a bit more. This can change how fast they open up as well. We test them in milk jugs full of water to see how much penatration and expansion those changes make.

great looking bullets, 1 in 20 should stabilize them. devastating on deer size game.. I shoot 300 grainers with exact same die..they rarely take a step.

What did you use for jacket material? Just bought these same dies and I have a pile of 40 cal brass I'm going to try.

I bought jackets from rce. Much easier than using brass. No cleaning and annealing necessary.
