I've got a Marlin 35Rem that just loves Speer 220gr flat-points and have been loading them for about 20yrs in my Marlin, but now that I'm getting casting fever I thought I'd hop on Ranch Dog moulds site and see what type of pill they have in 35 cal and found none listed. What gives?? I was suprised not to see one as the 35Rem is pretty popular with saavy shooters. Anybody have a favorite over 200grs??

218Bee,

I'm just getting into cast myself and been thinking about a 200 grainer for my 356 Winchester. I'll be watching for comments on your post.

I think Ranch Dog has been putting the finishing touches on a .35 cal 190 gr slug. From what I remeber hearing, should be around May-June before it's finished.

if you get a chance to get a 35 cal Ranch Dog mold you better jump on it when he gets them.i ran a group buy to get that mold and they are the best shooting 35 cal cast boolits ive seen.my two six bangers should last me for years

I've been fortunate enough to get both the 359-180 and 359-190 moulds from the Ranch Dog .

The 359-180 works great in my 356 WIN , and the 359-190 seems to be doing alright in one of my 35 REM's as well .

I'm on the waiting list for one of those myself.

Looking to try it out in a .357 Mag Rossi and a .357 Herrett Contender.

Sometime around June-July time frame RD should have some 35 cal moulds in , he just sent in a couple GB's along with his orders for moulds to Lee. I missed the 44 cal GB so I'm in wait mode for that and a 35 cal as well . I have the 30 and 45 cal's ordered so it's wait time till they come in.

I have the RD 359-180-RF and I'm waiting for the Ranch Dog 190 too.

In the meantime, the RCBS 35-200-FN Part #82028 is very popular if you can't wait.

I could be wrong but I do not believe the final version of the RD359-190 has been decided on yet .

It is true that 4 or 5 of them are out being used at this time . But the final version has not been decided yet .

I looked at 432 265 and subscribed to a six cavity; then said, "oh, hell," and had him send me a two cavity to use while I wait. I haven't done much with it yet.

I recently emailed him and said to put me on the list for the six cavity 359 190. I think it will be great in the little 357 Marlin Cowboy and my VAQUEROS. (There's another group buy getting started for a 180 grain plain base elsewhere.)

His moulds sure look good and the Marlins deserve a good boolit designed for them.

Well that's not the news I want to hear.

Anyone got a handfull of 'em I could load up to test that theory? Wouldn't need more than 4-500 [smilie=1: (Well, I could get by with 5 or 10).

As someone who has tried all his moulds I can tell you that they all work well in one application or another [smilie=1:

sounds like it would be a good one for the 357 max in a t/c.

Greetings fellows. I'm a running a bit behind with my communication on all fronts because of other commitments here on the ranch (spring is a very busy time). If the weather will just give me one good day, I can finish up on the TLC359-190-RF. It is March and 25 mph winds just don't allow you to understand a bullet plus I won't stand my chronys up in the breeze as I've damaged the screens in the past. I've got the test ammo all loaded up, I just need to have the wind give me a break.

Anyway, I've got this 190-grain (depending on alloy) bullet that is shooting out of several 35 Rem, 356 Win, and 357 Mags (all Marlins). I want to see it's performance will all the Hodgdon powders and determine an actual BC before I commit my money (and later yours) to inventory. "Nothing before it's time".

I've been working on web pages tonight, this being one of them. You can look at the bullet drawing at the following link:
http://www.ranchdogmolds.com/TLC359190RF/

The "Chamber Drawing" links will take you nowhere tonight, I run out of steam after 10 hours on my tractor!

I've finished up my testing and ordered my inventory for this mold. If you would like to read the report on the design, click on the image below.

Thanks for the interest guys. No need to pre-buy as I have plenty coming!

Lloyd, in that we have done business it was easy to add your email address to my notification list.

218bee, send me an email at: ranchdogmolds@yahoo.com. It is hard to associate a forum user name to a real name or email address. I will add you to the notification list.

Ranch Dog, have ya ever made a heavier than 190 slug in 35. I shoot Speer 220gr in my 35Rem now and they shoot really well

For a lead bullet to be any heavier than this design, it would have to extend beyond the case neck and take away from the much needed powder capacity of this case/cartridge.
