Hi All,
Being totally ignorant about Win. rifles, I need some help.

Will the internals of a '94 made in 1909, fit and function in the receiver
of a '94 made in 1948?

Thanks in advance, John

.

Winchester made two different Model 1894/94 receivers from 1894 to 1963 (1st Model & 2nd Model), but between approximately the mid-3,000 SN range and the 2,600,000 SN range, there were only cosmetic changes (markings, upper tang width/shape, different hammer spur patterns, etc, etc), w/o any internal re-engineering during that long production run.

As per a good gunsmith who is no longer with us the screw that holds the lever pin on the bolt, which is located on the left hand side of the receiver has been changed over the years. Different threads a slight changes in how they were built. Found this out when I picked up a incomplete '94 which was missing that particular screw. Think that there were either 3 or 4 different screws over the years. Had a side mount that came with different screws. Frank
