I have both a renegade with a 1 inch barrel and a Hawken with the 15/16ths inch barrel.

wondering if I could use everything I have and get a flintlock lock and barrel to play with? should be snazzy to have one platform that shoots both percussion and flintlock with just a change of barrel and lock.

yes it can and has been done. just have to have a 1 inch barrel for the renegade and a 15/16 for the hawken. same flintlock lock should work for both guns. so you only need one lock.

If you have a T/C Hawken Flint lock stock. A T/C cap lock will easily interchange.
If you have a T/C Hawken Cap lock stock. A T/C flintlock will seldom fit without some mortice alteration.

I currently have a T/C Hawken flint stock that I change its calibers and locks at my whim.

Check with Green Mountain. They used to make some really nice drop in barrels for both of those. I had a Green Mountain round ball barrel for my Renegade that shot great.

Green Mountain made drop in barrels for TC 's in both flint & cap lock. 15/16 & 1" They made 32 to 54 cal. with slow round ball twists I put a 50 caplock on a early TC Hawkin .Don't think they are still making them but I see them on swap sites.

since green mountain quit makin' the drop-in barrels for T/C's the price for them has gotten pretty stupid. you can find a complete T/C gun in good condition & the ignition of yer choice for what a GM drop-in will likely cost ya.

You could change out the breechplug on either rifle to flint, then get a RPL lock (from Chambers, I believe) to convert your rifle to flintlock.

but that would limit the versatility I believe the OP is lookin' for.

This sounds like a great excuse to hang another gun on the rack. lol

bigted,
The easiest route is to take a percussion TC and get a flinter barrel made because for a flinter barrel the breech plug doesn't have to be a TC design. On my TC's the flint and percussion locks are interchangeable.

thanks all. I am going shopping and im not in a hurry so I will be choosy and get just what I want and hopefully at my price tag to boot. I have found that if I want something badly ... I will get it badly ... however if I just glide along and watch with some patience it will all come together.

thanks again for all the reply's. I will begin my watch now.
