I have a Remington made French Berthier that has been in my safe screaming to get out and have some fun. I just need to get off my butt and locate a 3 round enboc clip, brass, and dies for it.

In the meantime I'd love to hear about your rifle. So does anybody have a story for me? How about your favorite cast load? I'd like to hear anything you have to say about this rifle.

Can't tell you any thing about my 07-15 since I have not shot it yet but here is the place I go to for all things French rifle related. Great bunch of guys over there.

Prvi brass and ammo is only brass to be had so look around at the usual suspects, Grafs.com and Wideners.com. Get enough today to last you through the dry spells if you have the moola. But get some and start shooting that Berthier! :)

There is a fella on the gunboards forum from down-under that makes the three shot clips or knows about who makes them. Shoot him a question.

There are finally some 3 shot clips on ebay if you hurry, supposedly cleaned up originals. I had some original clips thinking I would get a Berthier one day, but decided I will just stick with the single unloved R35 Lebel. My little R35 really likes the Lee 8mm Max from Midsouth, and is fun to look at with stock battle damage and used enough to wear finger marks into the finger grooves.

Thanks for your post guys. I've been so tied up with other projects this one always ends up on the back burner. I"d really like to carry this one out to the range and see how that long barrel does.

How is the quality of the Prvi brass? I have been thinking about forming 8mm Lebel using 348 win brass if I could find some. What I'd really like to see is some of your loads for the 8mm Lebel cartridge.

The reports are it is well made brass and ammo. Look. You can buy it preloaded this very moment (2255L Afghanistan time) or you can load your own. There is no need to reform any brass from 348 win.

I still advise you to join the french firearms forum. Those guys are the best and can answer your questions better than I because I am still learning about the Berthier too. They even have some load data that they have found works in their guns. Your gun is not their gun so you need to take all of the normal safety precautions and cautions if you load your own.

Privi brass is top notch, but the ammo might not shoot so well(.323" bullet in my Lebel, .327" groove barrel). I would not waste hard to find .348 brass just to convert to 8mm Lebel, and it might not even extract right since the rim is not the same size. I use 8mm Lebel brass on conversions that call for .348 Win in the books with better success because of that big ole rim, by the way.

You may find 8mm Lebel brass at Powder Valley is the best price. I just bought 200 cases for conversion to .41 Swiss for a Vetterli.
