Anyone know if a SBH hammer will fit a single seven? Hopefully a drop in fit.

I doubt it since the Single Seven is based on the Single six, not the Blackhawk.

Guy on 1911 forum changed his to a bisley hammer

I think a Bisley hammer has to be modified to fit a std Blackhawk. I know a SBH hammer will fit a std Blackhawk without modifying. I was hoping the SBH would fit a SS since the grip frames are the same as BH.

I couldn't find a Single Six regular hammer; must have put it up for safekeeping!!

Here is a SBH hammer on the left/back pinned to a Single Six Bisley hammer on the right/front.

The SS Bisley should have the same height as the regular SS hammer. It is a fair amount shorter than the full sized SBH hammer. Think a swap might require a fair hand at welding to make it look right. I've seen one that Alan Harton did and it was just fine.

The Bisley hammer extends back toward the thumb a little more than the SBH - very little - and the Bisley appears to be lower at the thumbpiece but that may be a function of the overall shorter height.

Single six frames came with two basic hammers , standard , or Bisleys .
