My buddy wants a 500 Smith & Howitzer, and wants me to find the heaviest cast bullet I can for it. I thought I saw a 700 gr. cast for it. Does anyone know of it or where I can get some small Volkswagens to load for it?

I think Ranger Rick is the name of the company that makes the 700 grain bullets for the .500 Smith. I don't know what the twist of the .500 is (Smith & Wesson version), and I don't know how well it can stabilize that long bullet. Maybe it can, I don't know, but it seems like a little bit too much of a good thing. I would imagine 525 grainers would work really well.......JMHO.......

Ranger Rick is the one. There is a loaded (dummy) round at one of the gunshops I visit and the boolit is almost as big as the case. The fellow at the gunshop says it is not to bad out of a 8" barrel, but somewhat stout out of the 2" barrel.
His words "not for the faint or weak hearted"

Click the KDM link at the bottom of the page. I think he has 700gr+ boolits for the big .50.
