Has any use WC-820 virgin surplus - Lot # 47277 in .30 carbine? Interested in loading details.

Mark I've been using WC-820 pull down for the 44 Mag, 357 and M1 Carbine with great results using AA#9 starting data and working up. Most accurate loads were below max. When that's gone, I have 8lb of virgin WC-820 lot# 47320. No experience with your lot # but check out the past posts in the Surplus Powder Data section and good luck.

Mark - As you may know, WC-820 was intended for the .30 Carbine cartridge in the military loading. In "Cartridges of the World" 7th edition, the loading of Cal .30, Carbine, Ball, M1 used 13.0 grs WC-820. The same charge was used in the M27 tracer round.

A good reloading practice would be to back that charge off at least 10% and work up from there.

i have some from bartlet and have been using 12.5 grains in the GB mold, sized .311 and getting around 1820 FPS
