Has anybody had any experience with Steve Young, the "Rossi 92 guy"? I've been thinking about sending him my Rossi 92 for some work, but haven't had any replies to my emails. Is he just one of those guys who doesn't do email?

Did you know he has a website? http://www.stevesgunz.com/

Yeah, that was where I got his email address from. I'll try giving him a call tomorrow, but it's not promising when a guy posts his email address on his website and then seems to ignore his email.

Has anyone here had any work done by him? If so, what was he like to work with?

Thanks,
Mike

He's had surgery recently. But when I bought my customized 92 from him we conversed by phone and email regularly.

He's a good guy to work with.

He did delicate work on my Rossi M92, and I was 100% satisfied with the job and the price and the turnaround time. As long as Steve is in business, he's the only gunsmith who will touch my Rossi. I'd suggest putting yourself in pause until you hear from him. Also, call him.

A guy that kisses your ass on phones and e-mail isn't a very busy gunsmith. I'd be willing to bet he's too busy working to fart around with all the people wanting him to spoon feed them on every aspect of their gun.

This is exactly the kind of stuff I was hoping to hear--thanks. I can definitely understand him not responding if he's had surgery. I'll wait a couple more weeks and then give him a call.

Old Ironsights, what's the receiver peep sight on your 92? It looks like a Williams. That's one of the things I'd like to talk to him about doing on mine.

Thanks,
Mike

It's a Williams FP. Steve D&T the reciever & mounted it after bead blasting.

I've never talked to him personally but I've shot some of his 92s in SASS matches.
When I get enough saved up for a 92...it WILL be from him!
Steve is good to go.

Well, I ended up just calling Steve on Friday and had a great talk with him. I'm going to be sending my 92 off to him in a couple of weeks. In addition to his action job it'll get a Williams FP.

Thanks,
Mike

You won't regret it.
