Not mine, but I have seen these for 303 and 7.62x54 - Wafer style headspace gauges.

Any good? Any problem with the concept?

I bought a set of those for 7.62x54R and they work fine. I have no complaints.

Totally not necessary, and a poor design to boot. A decent pair of Dial Calipers is a better tool to spend your money on.

What you do is measure a fired case, and then also measure the thickness of the rim. Write these dimensions down.

Then push the spent primer part way out.

Then chamber the case and close the bolt. This pushes the primer back in, but not all the way.

Then measure the new case length over the primer which will be sticking out a little.

You add the difference in the two Case Length Measurements to the thickness of the rim and you will have the exact headspace.

The Head Space on a Lee Enfield should be between .064 and .074.

This simple method only requires the use of a decent set of Dial Calipers and the ability to take accurate readings from a cartridge case.
