Hello.

I live in Australia and have to import all my own specialised reloading components. Importing primed hulls is extremely difficult. I need some straight walled 3" unprimed hulls (Cheddite or Fiocchi are preferred) to handload some Tri-ball cartridges as per information on this site. I have made a similar design on 2 3/4" hulls previously but they were not anywhere near as successful as many have demonstrated with 3 hulls. once fired is no good, must have no primer in them to avoid the "explosive" label and associated issues with import and export.

Anyone got any insight/experience in this area? Thanks very much in advance.

Luke

and on sale too....once fired....how can that be explosive? Primed hulls can be shipped UPS in US, but unprimed should be able to send anywhere.

I hear what you are saying Hogtamer. Do you happen to know if the wads you posted a link to are straight walled? Tri-ball loads are fussy with the hulls that can be safely/successfully used. At this rate I may end up having to pay someone to de-prime 500 hulls for me so I can get them sent over. Unbelievable..

These once fired federals are straight walled.

While you are figuring out what you are going to do I would send an em ail to BPI and ask them If they have any or can get them and what would the minimum amount would be. I can say that they are wonderful to deal with and do sell all the hulls you mentioned only they are primed. I don't know if they prime them or they come from their distributor, but it won't hurt to ask. http://www.ballisticproducts.com/default.asp the also may have some loads like you are looking for and wads etc. also. http://www.ballisticproducts.com/loadoftheweekarchive.htm here is their load archive listing.
