Hi guys, I was wandering what everyones favorite plinker load is with cast boolits for the 357 Herrett?

Been quite a while since I loaded any--the contender is long since gone-- but 8.0 grains of Herco under a 311-245 95 grain RN PB was death on Ground squirrels out to 50 yards. It opened up at 100, but was great at closer ranges. I used 7.5 grains of Unique as well. I found the case making to be too much of a chore and swapped the gun for something else, but I remember fondly spending several afternoons in an Almond orchard sniping some of the biggest ground squirrels I've ever seen back in the mid seventies.

Back when I had a contender in .357 Herrett, my plinker was 7gr Red Dot under any 158gr cast...

2.2gr Red Dot (smallest Lee dipper) under a .360" round ball worked well for pest control...
