I think I saw one that was set up to little arrows powered by those too. Experimental? Yes. Gimmicky? Yes. Fun? I'll bet it was.

I'd like to see a blowgun dart propelled by 22 blank. One time I hooked up a PVC valve, a bike pump, and a blow gun that made some blow darts go pretty fast.

When I was a youngster I fired some .22 pellets from a Remington No.4 rolling block using the old blank gun style blanks. It worked, but the blanks were very corrosive.

Theres a Mexican made .177 rifle that uses blanks to propel airgun pellets, or purpose made slugs. Not sure about these days but at the time Mexicans couldn't ordinarily buy .22 rimfire rifles.
