if a 8500 lbs truck is almost being blown into the next lane on the way to the gun range
and once there your eyeglasses get blown off your head and the plastic benchrest gets blown off the bench
you may need to compensate for the wind while shooting silly -wets with your .22lr pistol...

Yes but just how much? Is it just the bullet being blown around or you to?

Was shooting groups with .22 lr. this weekend and missing a wind shift was good for three inches at 100 yards.

I played a little with my win 52d at 200 yds this past sunday also. Cup officer was watching and telling his buddy I would be lucky to hit the target. Had 2 flags with daisy wheels out one at 25yds and one about 150yds These are the big wind areas on this range. Had around 4 1/2" group for 15 rds fired. Reading wind is an important skill to aquire.

This lot of ammo took 23mins above 50yd zero for 200 yds about right most is 22-24mins above for 200 yds.

300 yards CCI standard velocity - tape measures roughly 2''x 3'' altho my usual range with the .22lr is 200 yards, which i find challenging enough in twitchy winds.

I have had to break a shot on the front edge of the horn to hit the back leg/body junction. There was wind/rain at Raton when the line was called that you had to hold on #1 animal to hit #2. The wet berm turned as dark as the black targets, so sight picture was a bit hampered. As long as there's no lightning, it's time to shoot.

Reading the wind is also important when peeing outside.
