can anyone help with this ideal mold no. 311413 it a gas check mold, but i need to know what weight it is. thank you. carl

Here is a sister site, CastPics (http://www.castpics.net/), that has pictures/weights for most molds. Click on "Molds" and then the maker you are interested in... Ideal was bought by Lyman so the mold could be under either one.

thank you i found it. a 169 gr. gas check. and i found out i own a 214 gr. no. 311284 gas check.

The conventional wisdom on Lyman 411423 is keep the velocity down to 1600 fps or so for best accuracy. I have an old unvented Ideal version that is the bestb casting mould I own, and very accurate with moderate loads.

I have two of the 311413s. MIne weigh out right at 169.0 grains w/GC and lube./beagle

413's in both as issued or HP's are the most accurate blt in my heavy bbl 308W at about 1850 FPS chronoed. The HP's have a slight edge on accuracy it seems however.
