I have some wc 820 that I got from a friend, He said to use H 110 data. What I came up with was that H 110 data is waaaayyy too hot, I called Jeff Bartlett and he said to use AA #9 data. I used the #9 data and everything has been smooth as silk. Have any of you had any experience with this powder?

I have used many a 8 lb jug of WC 820 over a 25+ year period , my lots are faster than 296/H110 but slower than 2400 , works excellent in every cartadge Ive tried it in. 22 hornet , 30/20, 38 super , 357 & 44 mag & 454 casull still have a stash tucked away !

Mine is about the same...shoots great though. Very clean and very low SD's.

There seems to be a lot-to-lot variation. For instance, according to my chronograph, I have to load 14.5 grains of my current lot of WC820 to equal the velocity of 14.0 grains of H110.

I've gone through almost 16 pounds reloading for the .30 Carbine. The powder meters beautifully.

I have 16lbs of it. I am just starting to understand all that I can do with it. Mostly 300blkout and M1 Carbine.

Thanks for that search engine. I won't pretend to understand how it works but it does!

Haven't seen 820 at a reasonable cost some time. Only 860 and the turtle powders have been available. 844 and 846 variants were plenty only 4 years ago now they are as much as shelf powder. It comes in cycles. Keep your eye in hitec wideners Jeff Bartlett and the likes. And have lots of green ready so you can order 50# at a time when they finally do get back to cheat stock :D

I've bought WC820 from Jeff Bartlett (http://www.gibrass.com/) and from Pat's Reloading (http://www.patsreloading.com).

As khmer6 said, it comes in cycles and seems to go quickly, so it pays to check almost daily.

Note that the last time I bought from Pat's Reloading, it was not listed, but they had a small amount left. You might try calling and asking.

What do you believe is a "reasonable cost"?

A lot lower than canister powder. I figure maybe 30to40% cheaper than canister grade powder is a win

I would jump all over 8 pound kegs of wc820 from anywhere to 100.00 to 130.00 a keg.

The lot of WC 820 (n) I have I got from Jeff Bartlett. The instructions I got is to reduce H110 loads by 10% for my powder...
