Hey folks -- Noobie needs more help

What can I do to keep the stinking pin from falling out? Thanks again.

Noobie takes deep breath and knows that all will be good after he gets ahead of the learning curve. :)

Falling out of the bullet side of the mold or the back side of the mold ?

God bless

Put the pin back in and peen the aluminum over the top of the pin.
They must not have crimped good enough at the factory.

I believe it is on the back side opposite the sprue cutter

Thanks I'll try peening it.

From one jklein to another, I just had to do that this weekend; a ballpeen hammer and a few light taps did it.

Best,

I use a center punch to throw opposing burrs over the pin.

Jonathan,

Did you have to use a small punch to peen the metal over or just the round end of the peening hammer?

Thanks

I just went a bought some small set screws 8/32 and screwed them in no more problems. But peeing them over will work just as well.

I use a center punch in three places to stake it in. DALE

You can get one of these tools at Harbor Freight for 1.99

A handy tool to have around
